The Quality Engineer I will be responsible for...
- Driving measurable improvements in product quality, process performance, and manufacturing efficiency
- Analyzing quality, scrap, rework, warranty, and production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Leading root cause investigations using methodologies such as 8D, A3, 5-Why, Fishbone, and DMAIC
- Developing and maintaining PFMEAs, control plans, process capability studies, and SPC programs
- Implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and verifying long-term effectiveness
- Collaborating with Manufacturing, Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Customer Support teams to resolve quality issues
- Supporting supplier quality initiatives, supplier corrective actions, and supplier performance monitoring
- Reducing defects through process controls, error-proofing techniques, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Investigating customer complaints, field issues, and nonconformance reports while driving permanent corrective actions
- Assisting with APQP, PPAP, validation activities, and new product introduction efforts
- Performing internal audits and supporting compliance with quality management system requirements
- Tracking key quality metrics and reporting on performance, trends, and improvement projects
The Quality Engineer I should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 3+ years of experience in Quality Engineering within a manufacturing environment
- Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, A3, DMAIC, or Six Sigma
- Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, Gauge R&R, Process Capability Studies, and CAPA systems
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing processes
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and data analysis skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality data analysis tools
- Experience supporting supplier quality, customer quality, and manufacturing quality initiatives
- ASQ certifications (CQE, CQA, etc.) and Lean/Six Sigma certifications are preferred
- Understanding of ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems preferred
