Overview
A leading manufacturer of corrugated packaging products is seeking a Quality Manager to join its plant leadership team in Sheboygan, WI. This individual will be responsible for driving quality excellence, process improvement, food safety compliance, and customer satisfaction across a high-volume manufacturing operation. The Quality Manager will partner closely with operations, commercial teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure products consistently meet quality and performance expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and promote a culture of continuous improvement focused on quality, process control, yield enhancement, and defect reduction.
- Develop and implement quality initiatives that improve manufacturing performance and customer satisfaction.
- Partner with internal and external customers to address quality concerns and ensure expectations are consistently met.
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to quality issues.
- Lead employee training programs focused on quality systems, standards, and best practices.
- Champion food safety and product stewardship programs throughout the facility.
- Facilitate quality-focused meetings and cross-functional improvement projects.
- Prepare and present quality performance metrics and reports to plant leadership.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure incoming materials meet established specifications.
- Track, analyze, and communicate key quality indicators and trends.
- Support facility safety initiatives as a member of the plant leadership team.
- Manage systems related to production data collection, customer complaints, and quality reporting.
- Oversee calibration and maintenance of inspection and measuring equipment to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- Leadership experience managing quality systems and process improvement initiatives within a manufacturing, industrial, packaging, paper, or military environment.
- Experience conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Cause Mapping, or equivalent problem-solving methodologies.
- Strong customer-facing experience, including communication of quality issues, corrective actions, and performance updates.
- Experience working with Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Authorization to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or another STEM-related field.
- Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies.
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma training or certification.
- Knowledge of food safety and quality standards such as HACCP, SQF, or BRCGS.
- Experience within corrugated packaging, converting, paper manufacturing, or related industries.
- Familiarity with manufacturing quality data systems and reporting tools.
