Senior Capital Project Manager

Looking for a Senior Manager, Capital Projects to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of high-priority manufacturing construction, expansion, and startup/qualification projects across the global supply chain. Brings strong project management expertise, attention to detail, and a proven ability to manage multiple initiatives using established tools and methodologies.

Effectively influences cross-functional teams, contractors, and external engineering partners without direct authority, ensuring accountability and alignment with business objectives. Oversees all project phases from site development and permitting through equipment installation, commissioning, and transition to full production - while managing both large-scale construction efforts and detailed engineering deliverables.

Responsibilities include:

• Lead full lifecycle delivery of critical capital projects, including scoping, planning, execution, and closeout, with a strong focus on manufacturing initiatives across multiple sites simultaneously.
• Own project performance against schedule, scope, and budget, providing regular progress updates and ensuring successful outcomes.
• Build and lead cross-functional project teams, establish clear plans, and drive execution across a range of project types through to completion.
• Coordinate cost, timeline, and resource planning with contractors, vendors, and internal engineering teams to align project delivery with business objectives.
• Identify potential risks early and implement mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and deliverables.
• Manage capital and operational budgets, closely controlling scope changes and ensuring rigorous design reviews to achieve high-quality, first-pass success.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety requirements, including permitting, equipment design and validation, and handling of hazardous materials.
• Collaborate across global engineering, local operations, continuous improvement, and program management teams to leverage expertise and support project execution at all stages.
• Facilitate cross-functional communication, lead project meetings, and proactively resolve resource constraints or project bottlenecks.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior project managers while contributing to the improvement of internal project management processes and tools.

Ideal Skillset:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline required; PMP certification preferred.
• 8+ years of experience managing capital projects within the chemical or related process industries, including resource planning, stakeholder alignment, and leading multiple complex initiatives in parallel without direct reporting authority.
• Demonstrated experience overseeing plant construction, commissioning, and startup activities; strong proficiency with standard project management systems, tools, and methodologies. Experience supporting facilities involving hazardous materials is a plus.
• Deep understanding of project management best practices, with the ability to effectively lead both short- and long-term initiatives requiring detailed scheduling at both strategic and task levels.
• Familiarity with key regulatory and compliance areas, including environmental and air permitting, building and construction codes, electrical and safety standards (e.g., UL), and fire codes, with the ability to ensure adherence in partnership with subject matter experts.
