Senior Operations Planner
Our client, a growing advanced manufacturing organization in the Greater Boston area, is seeking a Senior Operations Planner to play a key role in aligning demand, materials, production capacity, and inventory strategies to support business objectives. This position will partner closely with Purchasing, Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to develop and execute production plans that ensure customer demand is met while driving operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage production plans to support customer demand and company objectives.
- Lead capacity planning activities to ensure efficient utilization of manufacturing resources.
- Monitor and manage demand forecasts, inventory levels, and production schedules.
- Translate customer demand into actionable manufacturing and material plans through ERP/MRP systems.
- Maintain factory planning activities in alignment with operational and financial goals.
- Oversee finished goods inventory and optimize stock levels to support service requirements.
- Coordinate engineering changes and product lifecycle planning activities.
- Support new product introductions and ensure seamless integration into production schedules.
- Maintain planning system data, including safety stock levels, yields, planning parameters, and other master data elements.
- Analyze planning performance and establish key metrics to drive continuous improvement.
- Manage master-scheduled products and monitor production plan adherence.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve supply, capacity, and scheduling challenges.
- Mentor and support team members while helping establish best practices across planning functions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing and process optimization efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 8+ years of experience in production planning, master scheduling, operations planning, or supply chain planning within a manufacturing environment.
- APICS/ASCM certification preferred.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA or a similar ERP/MRP platform.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
- Deep understanding of manufacturing operations, inventory management, capacity planning, and supply chain processes.
