About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to lead warehousing operations for a complex manufacturing facility in Greenwood, MS. This individual will be responsible for optimizing inventory flow, warehouse efficiency, team performance, and operational excellence while supporting a fast-paced production environment.
The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership experience within a manufacturing setting, a proven ability to manage multiple warehouse operations, and a track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory accuracy, safety, productivity, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee daily operations for two warehouse facilities supporting manufacturing operations.
- Manage a team of 4 direct reports and provide leadership for an overall warehouse organization of approximately 15-20 employees.
- Ensure timely and accurate receipt, storage, inventory management, and shipment of raw materials, components, and finished goods.
- Develop and implement warehouse processes that improve efficiency, inventory accuracy, space utilization, and service levels.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, productivity, inventory accuracy, on-time shipping, and labor utilization.
- Partner closely with Production, Supply Chain, Planning, Procurement, and Transportation teams to ensure material availability and operational continuity.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence methodologies.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies, OSHA regulations, and safety standards.
- Lead cycle count programs and inventory control processes to ensure inventory integrity.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, training, coaching, performance management, and employee development activities.
- Support budgeting and cost control initiatives while identifying opportunities for operational savings.
- Champion a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and employee engagement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of warehouse leadership experience within a manufacturing environment required.
- Experience managing multiple warehouse operations or large-scale warehouse facilities.
- Proven leadership experience managing supervisors and frontline warehouse teams.
- Experience leading teams of 15+ employees in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, warehouse operations, shipping, receiving, and material handling processes.
- Experience utilizing warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, and inventory control tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- Ability to drive process improvements and operational efficiencies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a complex manufacturing environment with high SKU counts and high-volume material movement.
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.
- Experience with automated warehousing systems or advanced inventory management technologies.
- Multi-site warehouse leadership experience.
- APICS, CPIM, CSCP, or related supply chain certifications.
