As the Quality Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that our transformers meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. You will oversee all aspects of the quality management system, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements. This role is pivotal in maintaining our reputation for excellence and ensuring customer satisfaction. This opportunity is in the Connecticut area and is an onsite role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company's quality management system (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 standards and other relevant industry certifications
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the QMS through audits, process reviews, and performance metrics
- Establish and enforce quality assurance standards, procedures, and specifications for incoming materials, manufacturing processes, and finished products
- Conduct inspections and tests to identify defects, non-conformities, and areas for improvement
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure incoming materials and components meet quality requirements
- Perform supplier audits and assessments to drive supplier quality improvements and maintain strong vendor relationships
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and optimize manufacturing processes
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to address quality issues and prevent recurrence
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements (e.g., UL, CSA, CE)
- Stay abreast of regulatory changes and emerging quality trends that impact the transformer industry
- Build and develop a high-performing quality team through training, coaching, and mentoring
- Foster a culture of quality awareness and accountability throughout the organization
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree preferred
- Proven experience (5+ years) in quality management within the transformer manufacturing or related industry
- Strong knowledge of quality management principles, standards (ISO 9001), and tools (Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing)
- Experience with quality systems auditing, supplier management, and regulatory compliance.
