Distribution Center Supervisor - 2nd Shift
The Distribution Center Supervisor is responsible for leading and executing daily warehouse operations during the 2nd shift in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This individual will oversee a team of 10+ associates, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and service levels are consistently met.
This role requires a hands-on leader with strong technical aptitude, particularly within Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and a demonstrated ability to drive performance, develop teams, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 10+ hourly associates to achieve daily productivity, quality, and safety targets
- Oversee inbound and outbound operations, ensuring accurate and timely order fulfillment
- Develop and execute labor plans to align staffing with daily volume and operational priorities
- Monitor KPIs (throughput, accuracy, on-time shipment, labor utilization) and drive corrective actions as needed
- Serve as the on-floor leader during shift, resolving operational issues in real time
- Utilize WMS (e.g., Blue Yonder) to manage workflows, inventory accuracy, and reporting
- Partner cross-functionally with transportation, inventory, and customer service teams to meet business objectives
- Train, onboard, and mentor employees to build a high-performing and engaged workforce
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
Qualifications
- 3-4+ years of experience in a distribution center, warehouse, or logistics environment in a supervisory capacity
- Proven experience leading teams of at least 10 employees in a high-volume setting
- Strong technical proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), preferably Blue Yonder
- Experience managing labor planning, shift operations, and performance metrics
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, extended-shift environment (12+ hour shifts)
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Hands-on, floor-oriented leadership style with a focus on accountability and development
- Continuous improvement mindset; Lean experience is a plus
