Position Summary:

The Drawback Manager is a senior customs compliance professional responsible for leading this organization's duty drawback operations. This role oversees the preparation, filing, and compliance of duty drawback claims, manages client onboarding and CBP interactions, and drives productivity and process improvement. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) regulations, strong leadership skills, and a proven ability to maximize duty recovery while maintaining strict regulatory compliance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage day‑to‑day duty drawback operations, ensuring accurate and timely filing of all claims
  • Monitor team productivity and performance in the preparation and submission of drawback claims
  • Establish and onboard new drawback clients, including managing startup processes and documentation
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for CBP, managing requests, inquiries, and audits to completion
  • Maintain high compliance standards related to drawback regulations, documentation, and filing accuracy
  • Stay current on CBP regulations, Free Trade Agreements, and industry best practices related to duty drawback
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements to increase efficiency, recovery rates, and scalability
  • Provide training, guidance, and performance management for drawback analysts and specialists
  • Resolve operational or compliance issues and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and clients to support broader trade compliance and cost‑recovery strategies

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum 4-7+ years of relevant experience in duty drawback, customs brokerage, or trade compliance
  • U.S. Customs Broker License required for Customs Brokerage management functions
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. CBP duty drawback regulations (unused, manufacturing, substitutions, etc.)
  • Proficiency with CBP systems (including ACE) and trade/compliance software
  • Advanced PC skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and procedures
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving capabilities
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with experience training and managing teams
  • Ability to negotiate and manage relationships with regional and national logistics clients
