Job Title: Human Resources Manager

Position Summary

The Human Resources Manager will lead and oversee all HR functions at our food/dairy manufacturing facility in Delhi, NY. This role is responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that support operational excellence, regulatory compliance, employee engagement, and workforce development in a fast-paced production environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing settings-preferably within food or dairy-along with strong knowledge of labor laws, safety regulations, and employee relations.


Key Responsibilities

HR Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with business goals and plant operations
  • Partner with plant leadership to drive workforce planning, organizational development, and succession planning
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to management on HR policies, employee relations, and compliance

Employee Relations

  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, including investigations and disciplinary actions
  • Foster a positive workplace culture that emphasizes safety, respect, and accountability
  • Ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures

Recruitment & Workforce Planning

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried roles, including production, maintenance, and leadership positions
  • Develop strategies to attract and retain talent in a rural labor market
  • Coordinate onboarding processes to ensure smooth integration of new employees

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state (New York), and local employment laws (EEO, FMLA, ADA, wage & hour, etc.)
  • Maintain compliance with industry-specific regulations affecting food and dairy manufacturing environments
  • Support audits, inspections, and reporting requirements

Compensation & Benefits

  • Administer compensation programs and support salary benchmarking
  • Oversee benefits enrollment and communication, including health, retirement, and wellness programs
  • Partner with leadership on compensation strategies to remain competitive

Training & Development

  • Identify training needs and implement programs for employee development, safety, and compliance
  • Promote leadership development initiatives and career growth opportunities
  • Support performance management processes, including reviews and goal setting

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Collaboration

  • Work closely with safety teams to promote a strong safety culture
  • Support OSHA compliance and workplace safety initiatives
  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective action planning

HR Operations & Systems

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data
  • Develop and improve HR policies, procedures, and documentation
  • Analyze HR metrics (turnover, absenteeism, engagement) to inform decision-making

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5-8+ years of HR experience, preferably in manufacturing or food production
  • Prior experience managing HR in a plant or multi-shift environment strongly preferred
