SUMMARY
Are you a hands-on maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting mechanical equipment and keeping production running at peak performance? We are partnering with a growing food manufacturer seeking a Mechanical Technician to support maintenance, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement efforts in a fast-paced production environment. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of automated processing and packaging equipment while developing your skills within a stable and expanding organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on manufacturing and packaging equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency.
- Maintain and rebuild mechanical components such as pumps, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic equipment.
- Support equipment installations, machine changeovers, and production startups.
- Partner with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve equipment performance issues.
- Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout practices and safe work standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders within a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and plant performance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training in industrial maintenance, mechanical technology, or a related field preferred.
- Experience maintaining industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills involving power transmission systems, bearings, gearboxes, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
- Experience with conveyors, processing equipment, packaging machinery, or other production equipment preferred.
- Ability to read technical documentation and safely perform repairs in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Food, beverage, consumer products, packaging, or other high-speed manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
