We are seeking a Process Engineer II to support daily manufacturing operations and provide technical guidance for a production environment that creates specialized chemical products. In this role, you will help ensure that the plant operates safely, efficiently, and consistently while meeting production goals and quality standards.

The Process Engineer II is responsible for monitoring ongoing operations, identifying improvement opportunities, and solving process‑related issues. You will work closely with operations staff to support safe plant performance, lead troubleshooting activities, and help standardize procedures across all shifts. You will also serve as a technical resource for root‑cause investigations, equipment improvements, and optimization projects that reduce cost or increase throughput.

A core part of this role includes responding to process concerns, guiding teams during unexpected production events, and helping restore operations safely and quickly. You will communicate clearly with both on‑site and off‑site personnel to share updates, explain process requirements, and report on project progress. This position requires taking ownership of plant trials, monitoring results, and ensuring that changes are implemented correctly.

The Process Engineer II will also collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to support equipment design, upgrades, and reliability efforts. You will contribute technical expertise when improving process equipment or modifying systems. Additionally, you will be expected to understand and follow key safety principles, including process safety and environmental standards, and actively promote a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting day‑to‑day plant operations to meet production goals
  • Partnering with operations teams to ensure safe and stable processes
  • Leading troubleshooting efforts and helping resolve process or quality issues
  • Responding to off‑hour production concerns when needed
  • Communicating process details and project updates across teams
  • Facilitating root‑cause analyses for operational incidents
  • Leading and documenting plant trials
  • Implementing solutions for recurring process problems
  • Supporting engineering work related to equipment and maintenance
  • Driving improvements to efficiency, cycle time, and standardization

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in the chemical manufacturing industry
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities with experience in root‑cause analysis
  • Understanding of process safety concepts and environmental, health, and safety standards
  • Familiarity with chemical process equipment and related instrumentation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently, remain motivated, and improve existing procedures
  • Experience with automation systems and strong computer skills preferred

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on problem solving, values safety, and wants to make meaningful improvements in a manufacturing environment. The right candidate will be detail‑oriented, proactive, and committed to supporting plant reliability and operational excellence.
