Warehouse and Transportation Manager
Our client, a supplier of home infrastructure materials, is seeking an experienced and hands-on Warehouse and Transportation Manager to take ownership of their Brooklyn facility. This role will be heavily involved in building a functional warehouse operation and creating a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of the warehouse and small fleet, including scheduling staff, planning routes, meeting productivity goals, and ensuring safety and quality needs are met
- Design and implement a new KPI set, monitoring progress and holding the team accountable to key metrics
- Support the transition from paper-based systems to a fully integrated, technology driven operation
- Mentor the team through this transition, fostering a culture of professionalism and bookkeeping
- Manage the operational budget for the warehouse and transport teams, analyzing opportunities for cost savings
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of warehouse and transportation management experience
- Excellent technical skills with a modern ERP or WMS system, and comfort learning and teaching a new system
- Demonstrable experience in developing and tracking a KPI set that led to measurable improvements in output, efficiency, and savings
- A "builder" mentality, someone who thrives in creating new systems and workflows, and visualizes optimizations from start to finish
