Location: Hybrid role based in Atlanta, GA

We're seeking a Director of Engineering to lead strategic initiatives across a multi-site specialty chemical manufacturing network. This role is central to driving process reliability, asset performance, and capital execution in highly regulated chemical environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in chemical process engineering, strong leadership capabilities, and a passion for operational excellence in the chemical sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement reliability benchmarks tailored to specialty chemical manufacturing.
  • Analyze process KPIs (e.g., yield, uptime, throughput) to identify gaps and drive improvements.
  • Lead capital projects ($10M-$50M annually) from scope development through commissioning.
  • Manage capital budgets and approval workflows (CAR/TRB), ensuring alignment with cost and timeline goals.
  • Champion preventive and predictive maintenance programs aligned with chemical industry standards.
  • Collaborate with site engineering leads to develop business cases and apply value engineering principles.
  • Build and mentor high-performing engineering teams, including rotational programs and career pathways.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of engineering experience in chemical manufacturing, including leadership roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related technical field (required).
  • Proven track record of leading multi-site engineering teams and delivering capital projects in chemical plants.
  • Strong understanding of process reliability, asset lifecycle management, and chemical plant operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop talent and foster high-performing engineering teams.
