Procurement Manager

We are supporting a leading renewable energy developer on their search for a Procurement Manager to oversee Solar & Wind equipment Procurement. This role sits within the procurement organization and is responsible for driving strategic sourcing initiatives across a utility‑scale solar and wind project pipeline. The Manager will lead supplier negotiations, manage equipment RFPs, and develop procurement strategies while partnering closely with development, engineering, construction, and finance teams to ensure strong commercial outcomes across cost, schedule, and risk.


Responsibilities

  • Lead negotiations for solar and wind equipment supply agreements, including modules, inverters, tracking systems, and wind turbines
  • Ensure commercial terms and contract structures align with project requirements, construction agreements, and overall project economics
  • Serve as the key interface between internal stakeholders including development, engineering, finance, construction, and operations
  • Drive procurement and supply chain strategy across new markets, including supplier qualification, compliance, and regulatory alignment
  • Lead and manage RFP processes, including scope development, bid evaluation, supplier selection, and award recommendations
  • Analyze vendor proposals and procurement strategies to support optimal equipment selection and project positioning
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, suppliers, and contractors to support long‑term sourcing strategy
  • Identify and resolve complex supplier issues or contractual disputes while maintaining strong supplier relationships
  • Monitor market dynamics including pricing trends, regulatory changes, and policy developments that may impact procurement strategy
  • Coordinate closely with development and pre‑construction teams to align procurement with project timelines, sizing, and delivery expectations
  • Identify procurement risks related to supply chain constraints, geopolitical factors, or market conditions and develop mitigation strategies
  • Adapt sourcing strategies quickly in response to changing project timelines, market conditions, or build program requirements

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or a related field
  • 6+ years of experience in the energy industry, preferably within procurement, sourcing, project management, or engineering roles
  • Strong commercial negotiation skills with an understanding of procurement and contract structures
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and strategic sourcing initiatives
  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑paced environment

Preferred Skills & Attributes

  • Experience sourcing solar and/or wind generation equipment
  • Technical understanding of power generation systems, engineering, and construction processes
  • Familiarity with global supply chain dynamics, including tariffs, trade considerations, and geopolitical impacts
  • Experience supporting supplier qualification, audits, and compliance programs
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives or teams
  • Proactive, adaptable, and solutions‑oriented mindset
