Role Overview
The Quality Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing robust quality assurance systems for plastics, silicone, and metals. This role requires a proactive leader who can manage supplier relationships, enforce compliance with European and global standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams including procurement, engineering, and production to ensure that every component meets stringent specifications. Key Responsibilities
- Quality Strategy & Systems: Design and implement comprehensive quality control processes for raw materials, ensuring alignment with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
- Supplier Quality Management: Evaluate, audit, and monitor suppliers to ensure consistent material quality and compliance with ISO, REACH, RoHS, and other relevant standards.
- Material Expertise: Provide technical guidance on plastics, silicone, and metals, including testing methods, performance criteria, and failure analysis.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to reduce defects, optimize material performance, and enhance overall supply chain quality.
- Compliance & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of quality inspections, certifications, and corrective actions; prepare reports for internal and external audits.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering and procurement teams to resolve material-related issues and support new product development.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks in raw material sourcing and implement preventive measures to safeguard production quality.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Engineering, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in quality management within raw materials for manufacturing, ideally in an OEM or Tier 1 supplier environment.
- Deep understanding of plastics, silicone, and metal properties, processing techniques, and testing standards.
- Strong knowledge of international quality standards and regulatory frameworks
- Proven track record in supplier quality management and audit processes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a multicultural environment and lead cross-functional teams effectively.
- Fluency in English; Mandarin proficiency is a must.
