Senior Air Freight Coordinator

Main Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage end‑to‑end airfreight operations for both standard and project-based shipments, including oversized, heavy-lift, or time‑critical cargo.
  • Coordinate high‑volume bookings and space allocation with airlines and consolidators.
  • Prepare and manage all required documentation such as airway bills, cargo manifests, DGR declarations, and import/export clearance paperwork.
  • Ensure full compliance with IATA, TSA, CBP, and other regulatory guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, carriers, ground handlers, and internal teams to set expectations and resolve operational issues.
  • Monitor and track shipments, providing real‑time updates and addressing delays or exceptions proactively.
  • Enter data accurately into TMS platforms and maintain organized shipment records.
  • Optimize routing and ensure accurate rate application in partnership with pricing and procurement teams.
  • Maintain data integrity within logistics systems and support timely billing and invoicing.
  • Contribute to planning efforts for large-scale or high‑value freight movements alongside operations and engineering teams when required.
  • Provide support, training, and mentorship to junior team members as needed.

Skills, Experience, and Attributes

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in airfreight forwarding, including project cargo and high‑volume operations.
  • Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) certification required.
  • Strong knowledge of global airfreight processes, documentation requirements, and Incoterms.
  • Familiarity with customs procedures, compliance standards, and country‑specific regulations.
  • Proficiency with logistics platforms such as CargoWise, SAP TM, or similar systems.
  • Excellent organizational abilities, with experience managing multiple complex shipments simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines in a high‑stakes environment.
  • This is an on‑site role.
