SMT Process Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated SMT Process Manager to lead and optimize our Surface Mount Technology (SMT) operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SMT production, Lean Manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement methodologies. This role is critical to ensuring high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective SMT processes in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all SMT production processes, including solder paste printing, pick-and-place, reflow soldering, and inspection.
  • Develop and implement Lean Manufacturing strategies to improve throughput, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using tools such as Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain to support new product introductions (NPI) and process changes.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure production goals are met or exceeded.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, ISO 9001) and company quality requirements.
  • Train and mentor SMT technicians and operators to build a high-performance team.
  • Evaluate and recommend new equipment, tools, and technologies to enhance SMT capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in SMT manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Proven expertise in Lean Manufacturing and process optimization.
  • Strong knowledge of SMT equipment (e.g., DEK, Fuji, Panasonic, Juki, etc.) and inspection systems (AOI, SPI, X-ray).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
