Director of Business Development

The Director of Business Development is responsible for securing multifamily and commercial construction projects ($2M-$50M), maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring consistent deal flow to meet quarterly sales goals. This role serves as the primary client interface and coordinates internally to ensure projects align with client design, budget, and schedule expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Support company values; maintain punctuality, prioritization, and accountability.
  • Manage existing clients while pursuing new opportunities to achieve quarterly sales volume; represent the company professionally with clients, architects, and engineers.
  • Oversee business development budgets, prepare weekly leadership reports, and maintain accurate tracking through client/project software.
  • Coordinate with pre-construction teams to fully qualify opportunities, oversee scope/subcontract values, and ensure timely communication of scope changes (RFIs, submittals, architectural direction).
  • Lead and manage the business development team, including scheduling and pursuit efforts across multiple markets, while contributing to team accountability.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, including site visits and nationwide events or meetings.


Qualifications

  • 10+ years as a Business Development Manager or higher in commercial or multifamily construction (or related field).
  • Proven experience in construction business development and sales with strong negotiation skills focused on profitability and risk protection.
  • Strong understanding of construction concepts and multifamily project types (renovations, ground‑up), with existing relationships across development, architectural, and owner groups.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to develop and execute a client acquisition plan and maintain timely, organized communication.

Compensation: $200,000- $220,000
