Maintenance Superintendent
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for leading the maintenance team to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of equipment and infrastructure within a pulp and paper manufacturing facility. This role oversees preventive and corrective maintenance programs, supports capital projects, and drives continuous improvement in equipment performance and uptime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and reliability teams to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
- Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and contractor relationships.
- Support capital projects and equipment upgrades.
- Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of maintenance experience in pulp and paper or heavy industrial manufacturing, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, and process systems.
- Experience with CMMS systems and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
