NPI Process Engineer
We are seeking a results-driven NPI Process Engineer to lead the transition of new electronic and computer hardware products from design to full-scale production. This role is critical in ensuring that new products are introduced efficiently, cost-effectively, and with the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics manufacturing, DFX (Design for Excellence) principles, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary engineering liaison between design, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams during the product development lifecycle.
- Develop and implement manufacturing processes for new products, ensuring scalability, repeatability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Lead DFM/DFA/DFT reviews and provide feedback to design teams to optimize products for manufacturability and testability.
- Create and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, PFMEAs, and control plans.
- Support prototype builds, analyze results, and drive corrective actions to resolve process or design issues.
- Collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure readiness for pilot and mass production.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time, improve yield, and enhance product quality.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., IPC, ISO, RoHS) and internal quality systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-7 years of experience in electronics or computer hardware manufacturing, with a focus on NPI or process engineering.
- Strong knowledge of SMT, PCBA, system assembly, and test processes.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and statistical process control (SPC).
- Proficiency in CAD tools, ERP/MES systems, and data analysis software.
