Procurement Specialist Engineering Services (M/F/D)
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist with strong technical and commercial expertise in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning) and broader technical services. In this role, you will manage end‑to‑end procurement activities for a major client account in Frankfurt, ensuring best‑in‑class sourcing, supplier performance, and commercial value across construction and technical service projects.
You will act as the primary procurement interface for the client, collaborating closely with engineering, project management, and facilities teams to secure high‑quality, compliant, and cost‑effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement & Sourcing
- Lead the full procurement lifecycle for HVAC and technical service packages, from sourcing strategy to contract award.
- Conduct market analysis to identify new suppliers, innovations, and cost‑optimisation opportunities.
- Develop and maintain category strategies for HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and related technical services.
- Manage tender processes (RFI/RFQ/RFP), evaluate bids, and perform commercial and technical analysis.
Supplier & Contract Management
- Negotiate pricing, service levels, and commercial terms to ensure best value and compliance.
- Oversee supplier performance, KPIs, and contract adherence for all strategic partners.
- Build strong relationships with OEMs, service contractors, and specialist subcontractors.
- Support resolution of supplier issues and ensure continuous improvement initiatives.
Client Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the procurement lead for a key strategic client based in Frankfurt.
- Collaborate with client engineering, project delivery, and operations teams to understand requirements and forecast demand.
- Present procurement strategies, savings initiatives, and market updates to client stakeholders.
- Ensure procurement practices align with client expectations, project timelines, and regulatory standards.
Project & Commercial Support
- Support construction and FM (Facilities Management) teams with technical procurement expertise for HVAC upgrades, installations, and lifecycle works.
- Ensure procurement plans and schedules are integrated into overall project delivery timelines.
- Validate cost estimates, BOQs, scopes of work, and technical specifications.
- Ensure compliance with German construction regulations, sustainability standards, and safety requirements.
Skills & Experience Required
Technical & Professional
- 3-7+ years' experience in procurement, preferably within HVAC, MEP, or technical services.
- Solid understanding of HVAC systems, mechanical services, and technical building infrastructure.
- Experience in construction procurement, technical FM procurement, or engineering supply chains.
- Strong contract negotiation skills (ideally with knowledge of German procurement regulations or VOB/B).
- Ability to run tenders, evaluate complex bids, and manage supplier risk.
Soft Skills
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Excellent communication skills in English; German language skills strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical mindset and commercial awareness.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment supporting multiple concurrent projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CIPS, CPM, or similar procurement certification an advantage.
- Technical or engineering background beneficial but not mandatory.
