Analyzer Technician II
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Analyzer Technician to join our chemical plant operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of on-line and laboratory analytical instrumentation used for process control and safety systems. This role is crucial to ensuring product quality, process efficiency, and compliance with environmental and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular calibration, validation, and preventative maintenance of process analyzers (e.g., gas chromatographs, pH meters, conductivity meters, oxygen analyzers, moisture analyzers, etc.).
- Troubleshoot and repair faulty analyzers and associated instrumentation to minimize downtime.
- Install, commission, and validate new analyzers and sampling systems.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, calibrations, and analyzer performance.
- Assist with root cause analysis and continuous improvement projects related to analyzer systems.
- Ensure compliance with company safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to optimize analyzer performance and reliability.
- Keep up to date with technological advancements in analyzer equipment and maintenance practices.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in an industrial environment (preferably chemical, petrochemical, or oil & gas) with hands-on experience in analyzer maintenance.
- Strong understanding of analytical measurement principles and technologies.
- Familiarity with safety protocols in hazardous chemical environments (e.g., ATEX, HAZOP).
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Basic knowledge of control systems (DCS/PLC) and their interface with analyzers is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
