My client is seeking a strategic, enthusiastic, and results-driven sales leader to join our team as the Associate Director of Catering Sales. This pivotal role will lead a dynamic and expanding team to achieve ambitious catering sales goals for a leading hospitality organization. The ideal candidate is a master communicator, relationship builder, and highly organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced, performance-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute upsell strategies across all resort services-including food & beverage, event technology, golf, spa, entertainment, and retail-in collaboration with the Director of Sales.
- Lead and mentor a team of Services Managers, CS Concierge, and Billing Specialists, while managing select key vertical accounts.
- Proactively identify creative opportunities to promote the full range of Turning Stone Enterprises' offerings to event clients.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Revenue Management, Food & Beverage, Events, and Operations teams to maximize total event revenue.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships that drive repeat business and referrals, ensuring timely and effective lead response.
- Monitor market trends, competitive performance, and business intelligence to refine sales strategies.
- Deliver clear, consistent, and motivational communication to team members and stakeholders to drive performance and brand awareness.
- Oversee the full execution of booked events-from pre-event planning and on-site coordination to post-event follow-up and satisfaction tracking.
- Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in all BEOs, group resumes, and event diagrams, while mentoring team members across departments.
- Lead the team responsible for timely and accurate client billing.
- Support the Director of Sales with reporting, annual planning, budgeting, and identifying process improvements.
- Represent the resort at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings as needed.
- Leverage data and analytics to build a strong sales funnel and identify growth opportunities in partnership with Strategic Analytics.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of direct sales experience; 7+ years in progressive sales leadership roles strongly preferred.
- Experience leading large teams in a complex hospitality or casino environment is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Solid understanding of dynamic pricing and hotel revenue management.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage deadlines and complex negotiations.
- Flexible schedule availability, including weekends, holidays, and travel for industry events.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Delphi or similar CRM/event management software.
