The Atlanta facility is currently seeking an experienced Automation Engineering Manager to lead digital transformation initiatives and oversee the optimization and implementation of advanced automation systems. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of automation engineers and technicians.
- Develop and execute automation strategies aligned with plant and corporate goals.
- Oversee the design, programming, and commissioning of PLCs, HMIs, robotics, and control systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, maintenance, quality, and IT.
- Manage capital projects related to automation and control systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering- preferred
- 8+ years of experience within a heavily-regulated manufacturing environment (consumer goods, chemicals, pharma etc.)
- 3+ years of leadership experience in managing engineering teams.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills (experience with hiring- preferred)
- Strong knowledge of programming and troubleshooting PLCs (Allen-Bradley), SCADA systems, and HMI design
- Experience with SMART manufacturing - preferred
