Job Overview
We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Buyer to join our procurement team within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role is essential in supporting strategic sourcing, vendor management, and the continuous improvement of supply chain processes. Experience in industries such as automotive, aerospace, or similar is highly preferred. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced setting and contributing to cross-functional initiatives that impact production and operations.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate procurement data to identify cost reduction opportunities, including supplier consolidation and strategic contract renegotiation
Partner with cross-departmental teams to resolve purchasing-related challenges and streamline operations
Implement and support supplier and commodity strategies aligned with procurement goals and manufacturing requirements
Track and report the status of expedited and delayed material orders, providing visibility into supply chain health
Provide hands-on problem-solving for material delays, shortages, and high-risk components
Contribute to the setup and maintenance of ERP, JIT, Kanban, and related logistics systems, ensuring accurate purchase item data and planning parameters to drive ERP/MRP processes
Record key takeaways from vendor meetings and follow through on assigned action items and decisions
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or equivalent
1-3 years of experience in a purchasing role within a manufacturing environment (automotive, aerospace, or similar preferred)
ISM or APICS certification preferred
Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite
Familiarity with SQL, Microsoft Access, and cloud-based collaboration tools
Understanding of lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement frameworks
Comfortable navigating fast-paced environments with multiple ongoing priorities
Must be eligible to work with ITAR-controlled products and data without restriction
Ability to document procurement processes and ensure supplier performance tracking
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced certifications such as CPM, CPSM, or CSCP
Experience in ISO-compliant environments and process improvement initiatives
Background in vendor risk assessment and procurement strategy development
