EHS Specialist required for leading Pharmaceutical Company

The EHS Specialist will have the following responsibilities:
- Support and implement HSE programs at the company's labs and facilities
- Serve as the HSE subject matter expert for chemical, biological, radiological, and general safety in laboratory and office environments.
- Develop and deliver HSE training content; manage training assignments in the learning management system.
- Write and maintain HSE procedures and programs to ensure regulatory and company compliance.
- Conduct risk assessments for equipment, procedures, and processes.
- Review safety aspects of new drug product testing requests.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, FAA, PA DEP, and other applicable regulations.
- Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analyses, and assign corrective actions.
- Manage hazardous waste, emergency response coordination, and environmental testing vendor relationships.
- Monitor contractor activities for adherence to safety policies.
- Perform other HSE-related duties as assigned.
The ideal EHS Specialist candidate will have the following skillset:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or a related physical science.
- 3-5 years of experience in HSE or a science-related field.
- Background in laboratory, R&D, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
- Proven experience developing and implementing HSE policies and procedures.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local HSE regulations.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Skilled in stakeholder communication, influence, and negotiation.
- Knowledge of integrating safety into lab and technical operations.
- Effective trainer with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and related software.
- Reliable, punctual, and consistent attendance.
- Commitment to safety and quality compliance.
- Chemical Hygiene Officer (CHO) designation preferred.
- CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) certification preferred.
