EHS Specialist
A leading pharmaceutical client is seeking a proactive Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Specialist to support its analytical and R&D laboratories in Exton, PA. This role also includes occasional support for a nearby site.
As the HSE Specialist, you'll ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations across lab and office environments. You'll lead training, conduct risk assessments, and develop safety programs aligned with regulatory and internal standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and manage HSE programs (e.g., Chemical Hygiene, Biosafety, Radiation Safety, Waste Management).
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, FAA, PA DEP, and other regulatory bodies.
- Conduct safety reviews for new drug product testing.
- Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses.
- Develop and deliver HSE training via the learning management system.
- Oversee hazardous waste management and vendor coordination.
- Monitor contractor safety compliance.
- Occasional travel to other sites as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or related field.
- 3-5 years of HSE experience in lab, R&D, or manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and program development.
- Excellent communication, training, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in pharmaceutical settings preferred.
- CHO designation, CSP or CIH certification a plus.
