European MNC - China Procurement Director
About the Role
We are conducting a confidential search on behalf of a leading multinational company in the heavy manufacturing sector. The China Procurement Director will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost optimization across all categories. This role requires strong leadership to guide and develop a high-performing procurement team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage procurement operations for China, overseeing an annual spend of approximately USD 150M.
- Provide leadership and direction to the procurement team, fostering collaboration and professional development.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with global and regional business objectives.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
- Manage supplier performance, negotiate contracts, and ensure supply chain resilience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support large-scale projects and operational excellence.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Proven experience in procurement leadership within Heavy Manufacturing or Automotive industry.
- Strong track record in managing large-scale procurement budgets and delivering measurable savings.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in building and managing teams.
- Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and strategic sourcing skills.
- Fluency in English and Chinese (written and spoken).
- Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field; professional certifications (e.g., CIPS) preferred.
