Location: Athens, Georgia
Compensation: $110,000 - $135,000 base salary
Summary:
The Indirect Category Manager will lead strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost‑reduction initiatives across indirect spend categories including MRO, Utilities, Temporary Labor, Capital Expenditures, and Leasing Agreements. This role partners closely with internal stakeholders to develop sourcing strategies, support capital projects, improve supplier performance, and ensure alignment with organizational and operational objectives. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, negotiation experience, and a background in indirect procurement within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies across MRO, Utilities, Temporary Labor, CAPEX, and Leasing categories.
- Conduct market research, supplier evaluations, and benchmarking to identify cost‑saving and value‑creation opportunities.
- Lead RFP/RFQ processes, competitive bidding, and supplier negotiations.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and service‑level agreements.
- Manage supplier relationships, performance metrics, and quarterly business reviews.
- Drive supplier consolidation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support cross‑functional partners in Operations, Engineering, Finance, Facilities, and HR.
- Participate in CAPEX project planning, vendor selection, and contract management.
- Perform spend analysis, track savings, and report procurement performance to leadership.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contracts, and governance requirements.
- Maintain category documentation, supplier records, and data accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in indirect procurement, category management, or strategic sourcing.
- Experience managing categories such as MRO, Utilities, Temporary Labor, or CAPEX strongly preferred.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Ability to analyze data, conduct cost modeling, and drive fact‑based decisions.
- Experience working in manufacturing, industrial operations, or multi‑site environments preferred.
- Strong stakeholder‑management and influencing skills.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and procurement or spend‑analytics tools.
- Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPM, CSCP, or PMP are a plus.
