IT Security Manager
Company Overview
Our client is an internationally operating organization with a growing global footprint. The company is currently strengthening its IT governance and security framework to support a secure, compliant, and resilient digital environment across multiple regions.
Role Purpose
The IT Security Manager will be responsible for the overall coordination and governance of IT security across the organization. The role focuses on defining standards, managing risks, handling incidents, and driving security awareness on a global level.
This position is not a hands-on infrastructure role. Infrastructure responsibilities are handled externally, allowing the role to concentrate fully on security, compliance, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and further develop the global IT security framework, including policies, standards, and procedures
- Assess, monitor, and mitigate IT security risks across systems, applications, and networks
- Lead and coordinate security incident management, including documentation and reporting to senior stakeholders
- Plan and deliver security awareness and cybersecurity training for employees, including onboarding sessions for new hires
- Coordinate security assessments and penetration tests, working with external service providers where required
- Support business continuity and disaster recovery activities from a security perspective
- Ensure ongoing compliance with data protection and information security requirements
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in IT security, information security, or a comparable field
- Strong understanding of security governance, risk management, and data protection
- Experience working in international or multi-entity environments
- Confident stakeholder communicator, able to operate between technical teams and senior management
- No specific industry background required
Working Model & Location
- Primary location: Berlin
- Hybrid working model with 3 days per week on-site
- Fixed remote days within the week as part of a structured hybrid setup
