Job Responsibilities
The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for providing leadership in manufacturing excellence, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving continuous improvement of plant performance measurements (quality, productivity, cycle time, delivery, and cash flow). This position provides direction for hourly and manufacturing support employees and is responsible for:
- Following safety regulations along with all department-specific safety requirements
- Meeting OEE targets
- Achieving production value-added goals by department
- Hitting daily shipment targets
- Driving profit and revenue performance
- Ensuring the safety of all employees by promoting a clean and safe work environment
- Improving manufacturing planning, execution, and shop floor discipline
- Providing leadership for Plant ABS and lean manufacturing initiatives
- Identifying and removing non-value-added waste
- Improving product flow and implementing method improvements to reduce labor content
- Developing and training team leaders, cell facilitators, supervisors, and other manufacturing support personnel for professional and personal growth
- Addressing any safety issues or non-compliances immediately
- Promoting Injury-Free Event (IFE) reporting
- Managing applicable department budgets
- Maintaining good relations and communication with our client's customers
- Developing budgets, strategic plans, team goals, and objectives that align with business unit objectives
- Flowing down goals and objectives to the entire organization
- Contributing to other location-specific and corporate teams
- Maintaining excellent delivery performance
- Conducting capacity analysis to drive standard work and ensure accuracy of standards
- Driving cost reductions to improve profitability
- Using lean manufacturing tools to reduce WIP and cycle time
- Communicating all relevant information to staff, customers, and management
- Understanding constraint management and OEE, applying techniques that exploit constraints to improve OEE
- Leading continuous improvement methods and ideas
- Consulting with engineering personnel on process modifications to improve production and product quality
- Providing leadership in safety and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- 7+ years of experience in leadership roles; 3 of the 7 years must be as a direct supervisor
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Business Administration or Engineering from an accredited institution
- Experience in the investment casting industry and/or manufacturing is a plus
- Ability to drive improvement through lean manufacturing principles, total quality practices, and Six Sigma
- Demonstrated results in leading manufacturing excellence
- Strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and negotiation skills
- Strong financial literacy
- Experience with tooling, molds, and dies relating to the Investment Casting, Injection Casting, Injection Molding, or Stamping industries is preferred
