The Market Intelligence Strategy Lead shapes the strategic direction of the building materials industry by delivering actionable insights, competitive analysis, and market intelligence. This role provides data‑driven recommendations that guide senior leadership decisions, strengthen competitive positioning, and support growth in both core and adjacent markets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead Strategy Development & Growth Prioritization

  • Drive the creation and execution of the roofing strategy in alignment with enterprise objectives.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor dynamics, cost structures, and material substitution activity.
  • Maintain market and competitor intelligence dashboards and data systems.
  • Integrate insights into long‑range planning in partnership with commercial and business leaders.
  • Support enterprise strategy and M&A initiatives as needed.

2. Generate Market Insights & Executive Recommendations

  • Monitor macroeconomic indicators to assess implications for demand and profitability.
  • Evaluate demand drivers across end‑use markets.
  • Assess risks and opportunities related to material substitution.
  • Interpret new customer, channel, contractor, or competitor intelligence and recommend responses.
  • Apply strategic frameworks and scenario thinking to anticipate competitive moves.

3. Build Market Intelligence & Analytics Capabilities

  • Implement advanced analytical models and best practices for forecasting and market assessment.
  • Champion the use of tools such as Power BI, Python, and econometric modeling.
  • Promote continuous improvement and share methodologies across the strategic marketing organization.

4. Drive Operational Excellence for the Strategy Function

  • Foster a culture of analytical rigor, continuous learning, and ethical intelligence gathering.
  • Support capability building and peer development with insights and analytics partners.
  • Prepare executive‑ready materials including LRP content, board decks, and external‑facing market insights.
  • Contribute to industry engagement and strategic transformation initiatives alongside leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong strategic and analytical capability with experience in market intelligence or strategy.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross‑functional strategic projects.
  • Skilled in modeling, analytics, and extracting insights from complex datasets.
  • Effective working in a matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders.
