OPEX Manager
A Paper and Pulp Manufacturing company is seeking an Operational Excellence Manager with deep experience in Lean Manufacturing and a strong background in paper, pulp, or corrugated mill operations. This role will lead continuous improvement initiatives, drive operational efficiency, and foster a culture of excellence across the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and implement Lean Manufacturing principles to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance quality.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize, and execute improvement projects.
- Facilitate Kaizen events, value stream mapping, root cause analysis, and other Lean tools.
- Develop and monitor KPIs to track progress and sustain improvements.
- Train and mentor staff on Lean methodologies and operational best practices.
- Support strategic initiatives related to cost reduction, process optimization, and safety improvements.
- Collaborate with leadership to align OPEX goals with business objectives.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with operational standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field (Master's preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an OPEX or CI role within a paper, pulp, or corrugated mill environment.
- Proven track record of implementing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher) preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with TPM, 5S, and other continuous improvement frameworks.
- Familiarity with manufacturing systems and ERP platforms.
- Ability to influence and drive change in a unionized or complex operational setting.
