Plant Operations Manager
Description:
This Plant Manager will own plant operations, leading with an inclusive mindset to deliver business objectives. Manages all manufacturing functions through plant leadership, including safety, quality, cost, service, production, continuous improvement, employee engagement, and equipment reliability. Coaches and develops teams to drive performance excellence while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Success requires strong relationship building and engagement across all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and sustain a culture of continuous improvement using structured problem‑solving methodologies.
- Lead, develop, and promote company goals, objectives, and operational standards.
- Develop and manage the annual operating budget with cross‑functional input.
- Review and analyze production schedules, KPIs, and operational reports to proactively address issues.
- Ensure optimal equipment utilization, reliability, and preventive maintenance to maximize efficiency.
- Lead plant staffing activities including hiring, training, coaching, performance management, and development.
- Manage plant costs to ensure budget alignment and financial discipline.
- Act as a change leader by influencing, inspiring, and engaging team members.
- Drive team engagement to identify and resolve production constraints.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost, quality, food safety, and customer service.
- Communicate effectively through routine meetings to align teams on goals and priorities.
- Manage inventory to meet working capital, quality, and service targets.
- Support growth initiatives by developing business cases for capacity and capability investments.
- Establish clear objectives, expectations, and measurable success criteria for team performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of plant or operations leadership experience, ideally in food and beverage manufacturing.
- Strong communication, leadership, and project management capabilities.
- Proven ability to lead collaborative, high‑performing teams.
- Ability to work in food manufacturing environments with allergens, variable climates, and physical demands.
