Procurement Manager
We are supporting a global leader in sustainable and innovative building solutions in their search for a Procurement Manager to oversee plant purchasing operations. This individual will ensure efficient planning, scheduling, procurement, storage, and movement of both direct and indirect materials, as well as finished goods across multiple U.S. manufacturing sites. This role is critical in supporting plant operations by optimizing inventory levels and ensuring timely availability of materials.
Key Responsibilities
Direct Materials
- Manage procurement of chemicals and other raw materials to meet production needs.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and supplier codes of conduct.
- Monitor supplier performance and address compliance issues.
- Forecast production needs using Kanban and inventory management tools.
- Maintain PO accuracy and escalate critical supply issues as needed.
Indirect Materials
- Oversee procurement of facility and production supplies, services, and equipment.
- Manage leases and analyze spend for cost-saving opportunities.
- Support capital expenditure initiatives and coordinate with Accounts Payable.
- Negotiate plant-specific contracts and manage renewals in coordination with legal and category teams.
Cost Savings & Reporting
- Identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
- Provide visibility into inbound materials and report savings per category guidelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on vendor quality and performance.
Compliance
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies and ethical standards.
- Lead inventory management processes including cycle counts and audits.
- Maintain compliance with purchasing authority schedules.
Supplier Management
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Track critical raw materials and manage supplier KPIs.
- Resolve invoicing issues and manage material flow using Kanban systems.
ERP & Data Management
- Oversee part number creation, master data maintenance, and purchasing records in ERP systems.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of purchase orders and vendor setups.
Inventory Management
- Manage material flow and inventory control using visual management and 5S principles.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and support third-party audits.
- Coordinate material returns and analyze inventory for optimization.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in chemical or raw material procurement, with exposure to category management, sourcing, and supply chain operations.
- Certifications: CPM or APICS preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SAP or other ERP systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Apps, and Ariba.
- Travel: Willingness to travel as needed.
