Production Manager
Job Summary:
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations within a chemical production facility. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant execution of production plans while leading teams to meet output, quality, and safety targets. The Production Manager plays a key role in process optimization, workforce management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day production activities, ensuring adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Supervise and develop production staff, fostering a culture of accountability and performance.
- Coordinate with planning, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Monitor production metrics and implement corrective actions to meet targets for throughput, yield, and downtime.
- Support process improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, EPA, ISO) and internal policies.
- Participate in capital projects, equipment upgrades, and new product introductions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 5-8+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing, with supervisory or leadership experience.
- Strong understanding of chemical processing, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with batch or continuous processing systems and production planning tools.
