Production Superintendent
A leading North American food manufacturing company is seeking a results-driven and experienced Superintendent to oversee daily operations at its Portsmouth, NH facility. This role is critical to ensuring production efficiency, quality assurance, and team leadership in a fast-paced, high-volume environment focused on delivering premium frozen food products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage production teams to meet daily, weekly, and monthly output targets while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments including Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Engineering to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor and analyze production metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, SQF, USDA) and company policies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
- Develop and mentor frontline supervisors and team leads to build a high-performing workforce.
- Manage labor resources effectively, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
- Support capital projects and equipment upgrades in coordination with the engineering team.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a supervisory or superintendent role within a food manufacturing or similar regulated industry.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulatory compliance.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and production reporting tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
