Leading Food Manufacturing Firm Looking for Production Supervisor

Objective:


The Production Supervisor plays a key role in overseeing daily manufacturing operations and equipment upkeep during assigned shifts. This position ensures production targets are met safely and efficiently, promotes a collaborative team culture, supports quality standards, drives operational improvements, and facilitates staff development and training.


Reporting Structure & Collaboration:

  • Reports to: Operations Manager
  • Direct Reports: Hourly production team members
  • Works closely with: Internal departments (HR, Finance, Planning, Logistics, Sales) and external partners (vendors, contractors, auditors)

Key Competencies & Knowledge Areas:

Industry Expertise:

  • Food production processes including safety protocols, quality assurance, sanitation, and regulatory compliance (FDA, OSHA, GMP, HACCP)
  • Familiarity with manufacturing systems, equipment, and maintenance procedures
  • Understanding of cost control, budgeting, and production metrics
  • Experience with inventory management, scheduling, and performance optimization
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement strategies and relevant methodologies
  • Awareness of applicable laws and industry standards

  • Strong leadership and team coordination abilities
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Capable of managing multiple initiatives and driving results
  • Proficient in digital tools including spreadsheets, databases, and documentation software
  • Commitment to organizational values and performance expectations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Food Science, Engineering, Operations, or Manufacturing
  • 1-3 years of experience in food production or processing
  • Prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting is advantageous
  • Certifications in First Aid/CPR, Forklift operation, HACCP, SQF, Sensory Evaluation, and Food Safety are a plus
