Senior Field Applications Engineer
DSJ Global has partnered with a technology company is seeking a Senior Field Applications Engineer to support customers with advanced photonics and high‑speed I/O test and measurement needs across North America. This role combines technical consulting, hands‑on testing, and customer engagement to help drive regional business growth.
Responsibilities
- Support customers developing photonic and electrical ICs, optical transceivers, test systems, and related technologies.
- Partner closely with regional sales to identify opportunities and meet/exceed sales targets.
- Understand customer requirements and recommend optimal technical solutions.
- Provide automation assistance, including test flow optimization and debugging.
- Prepare detailed technical proposals and system configurations.
- Build and operate complex test setups to produce customer‑ready data.
- Deliver product demos and support on‑site evaluations.
- Offer first‑ and second‑level technical support.
- Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and online presentations.
- Maintain strong long‑term relationships with key accounts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Physics (Photonics), Electrical Engineering, or similar field.
- 5+ years in customer‑facing technical roles within photonics and/or high‑speed I/O.
- 2+ years of hands‑on testing, design, or definition of photonics or HSIO products.
- Experience with T&M equipment such as sampling oscilloscopes, BERTs, tunable lasers, and OSAs.
- Strong automation skills (API, SCPI, gRPC, PXIe) and proficiency in languages such as Python and C++.
- Knowledge of the North American optical/electrical communications ecosystem and existing industry connections.
- Strong technical problem‑solving skills.
