Senior IT-Director
A confidential, internationally operating organisation is seeking a Senior IT Director / IT Director to strengthen its IT leadership function in Berlin.
This role has been created to elevate IT from a predominantly operational setup to a strategically driven, business‑enabling function. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership, take ownership of the IT roadmap, and provide clear direction, governance, and prioritisation across the IT landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall leadership and development of a small internal IT team, supported by external consultants and service providers
- Definition and execution of the IT strategy, roadmap, and operating model
- Acting as a senior sparring partner for executive stakeholders, translating business requirements into scalable IT solutions
- Oversight of enterprise systems, infrastructure, security, and vendor management
- Driving strategic initiatives such as infrastructure setup, system optimisation, and organisational growth support
- Ensuring a strong focus on security, compliance, and reliability within a regulated or complex environment
Required Background
- 15+ years of professional experience in IT, with a clear progression from hands‑on technical roles into leadership and strategic responsibility
- Several years of proven people leadership experience, including coaching and team development
- Previous experience within Logistics, Supply Chain, Pharma, or Life Sciences environments
- Strong exposure to the Microsoft ecosystem, with prior contact to Microsoft Dynamics 365 (ERP) at a strategic or governance level
- Ability to operate confidently at C‑level, while remaining technically credible
- Structured, independent decision‑maker with a strong sense of ownership and prioritisation
Location & Working Model
- Berlin‑based position
- Office‑based setup with 3-4 days per week on site
- Occasional international travel may be required
