Senior Procurement Manager
We are supporting a rapidly growing renewable energy owner, operator, and developer on their search for a Senior Manager, Procurement. This role is responsible for leading sourcing, commercial negotiations, and procurement execution for utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects across North America. The Senior Manager will support the procurement of critical equipment including PV modules, inverters, main power transformers, and high-voltage breakers, while partnering closely with development, engineering, project management, construction, legal, and finance teams to drive best-in-class commercial outcomes across cost, schedule, and risk.
Responsibilities
- Lead competitive sourcing activities, including supplier outreach, RFP development, proposal evaluations, and supplier selection processes
- Manage procurement activities for major equipment packages including PV modules, solar and BESS inverters, main power transformers, and high-voltage breakers
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key OEMs and equipment suppliers
- Analyze supplier proposals, pricing structures, delivery schedules, technical exceptions, and commercial risks
- Develop procurement recommendations and sourcing strategies for leadership review and approval
- Lead negotiations of equipment supply agreements, framework agreements, master supply agreements, and purchase orders
- Coordinate with legal counsel and internal stakeholders to negotiate commercial and contractual terms
- Evaluate and allocate project risks related to schedule, performance guarantees, warranties, logistics, liquidated damages, force majeure, and change management provisions
- Monitor equipment pricing, global supply chain trends, manufacturing capacity, tariffs, domestic content requirements, and emerging technologies
- Develop procurement budgets, cost forecasts, and market assessments for development-stage projects
- Maintain market intelligence regarding supplier capabilities, manufacturing locations, lead times, and market risks
- Partner closely with development, engineering, project management, construction, finance, legal, and executive leadership teams throughout the procurement lifecycle
- Identify opportunities to improve commercial outcomes and mitigate procurement-related risks across project portfolios
- Support multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment while maintaining high-quality deliverables
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 7+ years of procurement, contract management, asset management, operations, or related experience
- Experience within the energy, power, infrastructure, or renewable energy industries
- Experience negotiating equipment supply agreements, framework agreements, master supply agreements, and other complex commercial contracts
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify, evaluate, and mitigate contractual and commercial risks
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to evaluate commercial, technical, and schedule considerations
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a dynamic environment
- Strong organizational skills and ownership mentality
Preferred Skills & Attributes
- Experience supporting utility-scale solar, battery energy storage, transmission, substation, or power generation projects
- Strong understanding of renewable energy market dynamics and utility-scale project development
- Familiarity with equipment sourcing for PV modules, inverters, transformers, breakers, and related electrical infrastructure
- Ability to evaluate market trends, supply chain developments, trade policy impacts, and emerging technologies
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with development, engineering, construction, finance, legal, and executive teams
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment
