Title: Senior Director, Contract Manufacturing
Location: North Carolina | In‑Office
We're hiring a Senior Leader with a strong chemical or process engineering background to build and own a growing contract manufacturing network for a high‑growth consumer products company.
This is a hands‑on, high‑ownership role focused on scaling production, improving manufacturing performance, and leading process engineering across external partners. You'll work directly with manufacturers to troubleshoot issues, strengthen processes, and support new product launches.
Ideal background:
- 15-20+ years in manufacturing, process engineering, or operations leadership
- Experience managing contract manufacturers
- Strong technical foundation in process scale‑up and manufacturing science
- Comfortable in fast‑paced, high‑growth environments
- Willing to travel frequently (~50%)
Preferred Background:
- Lead and optimize a network of contract manufacturing partners, owning performance across quality, cost, delivery, and scalability
- Build and standardize manufacturing processes, including process characterization, DOE, and continuous improvement across external sites
- Drive technology transfer and product scale‑up from development through commercialization, ensuring reliable and repeatable production
- Partner cross‑functionally with Product Development, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations to support new launches and ongoing production
- Establish manufacturing metrics, troubleshoot complex production challenges, and implement controls to support long‑term growth
