Sr. Maintenance Engineer - Rotating Equipment
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Maintenance Engineer - Rotating Equipment to support the reliability and performance of critical rotating assets within our chemical manufacturing operations. This role is essential in ensuring safe, efficient, and uninterrupted plant operations by leading maintenance strategies, troubleshooting complex issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead maintenance and reliability efforts for rotating equipment including pumps, compressors, agitators, blowers, and gearboxes.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs aligned with chemical industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with process engineering, operations, and EHS teams to ensure equipment integrity and process safety.
- Specify and oversee installation, commissioning, and upgrades of rotating machinery.
- Manage equipment lifecycle strategies, including spare parts optimization and obsolescence planning.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as API 610, 617, 682, and OSHA PSM requirements.
- Support turnaround planning and execution, including scope development and contractor coordination.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of reliability and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in maintenance engineering with a focus on rotating equipment in the chemical or petrochemical industry.
- Strong knowledge of chemical plant operations, process safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in condition monitoring techniques (vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography).
- Experience with CMMS systems (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo) and reliability tools (RCM, FMEA, Weibull analysis).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification is a plus.
