Territory Manager
Overview
We are seeking a Territory Manager to drive sales growth across Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula. This role owns key customer relationships, manages the full sales cycle, and supports a broad base of utility, distributor, and consultant accounts. The Territory Manager will promote a technical product portfolio, identify customer needs, and deliver solutions that support long‑term growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute territory sales plans, including customer visits, key account strategies, and order forecasts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders up to the Director level.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive outreach and lead generation.
- Serve as the primary customer contact for inquiries, issues, and technical support requests.
- Conduct regular meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations.
- Use consultative selling techniques to progress opportunities, negotiate terms, and close deals.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
- Work with internal technical teams to tailor solutions to customer needs.
- Partner with marketing, sales operations, and channel management to support territory initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and pipeline activity in CRM systems.
- Participate in factory tours and product acceptance activities as required.
- Provide regular performance updates, forecasts, and market insights to leadership.
- Keep current on new technologies and industry trends.
- Support occasional after‑hours customer engagement as part of relationship building.
- Travel up to 80% for customer visits, events, and business support.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in the electric power industry and/or selling to utility customers.
- Strong understanding of electrical power systems and medium‑voltage distribution.
- Proven track record of generating new business and achieving sales targets.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Strong business acumen, analytical abilities, and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience negotiating and closing complex, high‑value deals.
- Strong organizational and project‑management capabilities.
- Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively.
