Safety Manager

DSJ is currently partnered with a well-established paper company in Georgia looking to add a dynamic Safety Manager professional to their team. This individual will be responsible for leading site safety programs, reducing risk, and strengthening a proactive learning‑focused safety culture. This leader will oversee safety strategy, compliance, and a dedicated Safety & Health team.

Safety Manager Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the site's Safety & Health team.
  • Drive safety strategy aligned with company Safety Vision and Path to Zero goals.
  • Strengthen programs in OSHA compliance, PSM, emergency response, and Workers' Compensation.
  • Apply Human & Organizational Performance (HOP) principles to improve learning and risk reduction.
  • Oversee hazard assessments (HIRA) and critical hazard control programs (LOTO, line breaking, fall protection, mobile equipment, rigging, permitting, etc.).
  • Lead incident investigations and ensure strong corrective actions.
  • Manage safety onboarding and ongoing training programs.
  • Collaborate with corporate Safety & Process Safety teams for alignment and best practices.
  • Support continuous improvement through audits, metrics, and performance reviews.

Safety Manager Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree OR 4+ years of industrial safety experience.
  • Safety leadership in manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Experience with EHS Management Systems and OSHA compliance.

Preferred:

  • Degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field.
  • Certifications: CSP, ASP, CIH, or PE.
  • Experience with HOP, PSM, and building sustainable safety systems.
  • Proven success improving site safety performance.
