A growing food manufacturer is seeking a hands-on 2nd Shift Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance operations within a fast-paced baked goods production facility. This role is responsible for supervising maintenance technicians, improving equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and ensuring safe, efficient operation of production equipment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a maintenance leader who thrives on the production floor and enjoys developing teams while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise maintenance technicians on 2nd shift.
- Coordinate and execute preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC-related equipment issues.
- Partner with production leadership to minimize downtime and maximize equipment performance.
- Prioritize and assign maintenance work orders to support production schedules.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, food safety, GMP, and regulatory requirements.
- Coach, train, and develop maintenance team members.
- Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring failures.
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and capital improvement projects.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation within the CMMS system.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience within food, beverage, bakery, consumer packaged goods, or other high-speed manufacturing operations preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting skills involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation systems.
- Working knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment.
- Experience leading maintenance technicians in a production environment.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work a 2nd shift schedule and support occasional off-shift needs when necessary.
Preferred Experience
- Bakery, snack food, beverage, dairy, or other food manufacturing experience.
- Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or Reliability Maintenance practices.
- CMMS experience such as SAP, Maximo, MP2, or similar systems.
