Materials and Process Engineer - Sealants and Insulating Glass
The Materials & Process Engineer will serve as a technical leader within a materials-focused R&D team responsible for evaluating, developing, and implementing innovative material solutions that support next-generation window and door products. This role is heavily centered on sealants, insulating glass technologies, coatings, adhesives, and other material systems that directly impact product performance, durability, energy efficiency, manufacturability, and overall customer experience. The engineer will lead material validation and process development projects from concept through implementation, using a combination of laboratory testing, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to identify solutions that improve product quality, reduce costs, and ensure long-term supply reliability. Working closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and external suppliers, this individual will play a critical role in bringing new technologies into production and supporting strategic innovation initiatives.
The position offers a unique opportunity to influence both current product improvements and long-term transformational projects focused on the future of the business. Responsibilities include designing and executing experimental studies, developing testing methodologies, validating new materials, troubleshooting complex material and process-related issues, and making technical recommendations based on sound engineering principles and statistical analysis. The engineer will be expected to apply tools such as Design of Experiments (DOE), process capability analysis, FMEA, MSA, and control plans to drive data-based decision making and continuous improvement. Successful candidates will bring a strong foundation in materials science, chemistry, polymers, adhesives, coatings, glass technologies, or related fields, along with hands-on experience in product development, testing, and manufacturing implementation.
