Are you passionate about international trade, ocean freight, and delivering exceptional service to customers? Our client, a leading global freight forwarder and logistics service provider, is looking for an Ocean Import Specialist to join their growing team in Antwerp.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a dynamic and fast-paced environment where you will play a key role in managing international ocean import shipments from origin to final delivery. You'll work alongside industry experts, global partners, and key customers while building your career within a highly respected logistics organization.
What You'll Be Doing
As an Ocean Import Specialist, you will be responsible for the end-to-end coordination of ocean import shipments, ensuring smooth and efficient transportation while delivering outstanding customer service.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing ocean import shipments from booking through to final delivery
- Coordinating with overseas offices, carriers, terminals, transport providers, and customers
- Monitoring shipment progress and proactively resolving exceptions
- Handling import documentation and ensuring compliance with customs and regulatory requirements
- Arranging inland transportation and delivery schedules
- Providing customers with shipment updates and maintaining strong client relationships
- Managing cargo release procedures and coordinating with relevant stakeholders
- Processing freight billing and ensuring accurate cost control
- Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and service quality
What We're Looking For
- Experience within ocean freight forwarding, preferably in import operations
- Strong understanding of international shipping processes and documentation
- Knowledge of customs procedures and import regulations is advantageous
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize workloads and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Customer-centric mindset with a proactive approach
- Fluency in Dutch and English
