Position Summary
The Senior Director, Wholesaler Partnerships & Commercial Strategy will serve as the primary strategic partner to dedicated distributor organizations, helping drive sales growth, market share gains, and long-term business performance.
This executive-level role requires a highly strategic commercial leader who can influence senior stakeholders, manage complex distributor relationships, lead annual business planning processes, and develop market strategies that align retailer, wholesaler, and company objectives. The successful candidate will combine strong analytical capabilities with exceptional relationship-building and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial strategy for an assigned territory, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and growth priorities.
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships with distributor partners and key internal stakeholders.
- Develop and oversee annual business plans, joint business planning initiatives, and strategic commercial priorities.
- Drive pricing strategy implementation, revenue management initiatives, and price increase execution.
- Own forecasting reviews, performance assessments, and business performance routines.
- Oversee distributor planning cycles, execution strategies, innovation launches, channel priorities, and growth initiatives.
- Manage sales, share, volume, and financial performance across assigned distributor networks.
- Deliver executive-level business reviews and performance updates to senior leadership.
- Analyze market dynamics, competitive activity, consumer trends, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities.
- Utilize syndicated data, forecasting tools, and commercial analytics platforms to generate actionable business recommendations.
- Lead strategic projects and pilot initiatives designed to improve business performance and operational effectiveness.
- Coach, mentor, and develop talent while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to distributor leadership teams and influence decision-making at all levels of the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive sales, commercial leadership, marketing, or distributor management experience within beverage alcohol, CPG, or related industries.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic business plans that deliver measurable results.
- Experience managing distributor, wholesaler, or large customer relationships.
- Strong commercial acumen with expertise in pricing, forecasting, revenue growth management, and market planning.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to build, develop, and inspire high-performing teams.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Strong analytical skills and experience utilizing sales and market data to drive decisions.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of operating effectively in a dynamic and competitive marketplace.
Preferred Qualifications
- Beverage alcohol industry experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of state alcohol regulations, compliance requirements, and promotional guidelines.
- Experience with category management, distribution strategy, merchandising, pricing, and trade promotion execution.
- Familiarity with syndicated data and commercial planning tools such as Circana (IRI), NielsenIQ, revenue management platforms, and forecasting systems.
