Senior Controls Engineer - San Leandro, CA
Our client, a leading organization in the Food & Beverage sector, is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to join our client's team in San Leandro on a permanent basis. This is a high-impact role where you will drive automation reliability, lead controls projects, and ensure smooth operation of high-volume manufacturing processes, all within a modern, technically advanced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve PLC, HMI & SCADA systems to enhance plant performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot automation and controls issues to reduce downtime and support continuous production.
- Lead controls projects and commissioning activities from concept through to handover.
- Support reliability initiatives across the facility, focusing on automation and controls improvements.
Relevant Skills & Experience
- PLC expertise - Strong experience programming, maintaining, and optimizing PLC systems (Allen-Bradley & Siemens preferred).
- HMI & SCADA - Ability to configure and improve operator interfaces and supervisory control systems.
- Troubleshooting - Skilled at diagnosing complex automation faults quickly in a production environment.
- Project leadership - Experience leading controls projects and overseeing commissioning activities.
- Food & Beverage / high-volume manufacturing - Background in similar environments is a strong plus.
Compensation
- Base salary range: $130,000 - $170,000 (depending on experience and fit).
